Many of customers are using Joomla in one way, shape or form to power the Online projects or web sites they run. With that in mind, I thought I would cover some of my favorite most popular extensions related to designs for the Joomla content management system.

Ultimate PNG Fix Plugin (for IE up to version 6.x)
The “Ultimate PNG Fix” Plugin (for IE up to version 6.x) gives you the ability to correct “alpha” transparency for BOTH inline and background 24/32-bit PNG images on Internet Explorer (from version 5 up to version 6.x, versions 7+ support PNG transparency natively). It does that by triggering some optional filters in IE using Javascript and thus achieving alpha transparency.

Tabs & Slides (in content items) Plugin
The “Tabs & Slides In Content Items” Plugin -now in version 2.3- gives you the ability to easily add content tabs and/or content slides within standard Joomla! content items (articles). The “tabs” can emulate a multi-page structure, while the “slides” can emulate an accordion-like structure, inside a single page!

Template Chooser
Template chooser for joomla 1.5. With this module (in combination with the plugin) users can change the template in the frontend.

Joomla Lightweight DropDown Menu
This is Joomla Extension product, the lightweight dropdown menu. This Joomla 1.5 module will display your site menus with simple javascript code. you can modify it to display  as  dropdown or horizontal layers. In Module panel, there’s option to change background and border color.

Drop Down Menu Apple style
This is a very neat and cool drop down menu provided by www.dynamicdrive.com.

Joomla Popin Window
The Joomla Popin Window is a plugin which allows you to quickly and easily create a Joomla popin window. The window is like a small popup, however it is not blocked by popup blockers. This plugin is useful to boost ypur newsletter subscriptions, to invite your users to participate in a survey, possibly to popin a window which allows users to play a sample of your music or to quickly attract attention to some new functionality of your site.

Slider Plugin
The Slider Plugin allows you to hide paragraphs in your articles that appear when the title is clicked. This is based on the mootools library slidefx example.

AJAX Soft Fade-In Popup
The AJAX Popup Module places the content of any Content Item with a soft fade-in-effect. Contained AJAX-Statements, for example AJAX-Thick- or Lightbox, will proceed as normal. Since the Popup-code is written into the mainframe, popup blocker can’t detect and stop the Popup.

IE 8 Compatibility
This plugin automatically activate Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility View. Visitors who use this browser will see your web site without display problems although it isn’t optimized for Internet Explorer 8.

HTML Purifier
This plugin is based on the HTML Purifier library ( http://htmlpurifier.org/ ), and has been ported to joomla by http://www.joomlashow.it/ staff.
This plugin purifies html code of contents to gain valid XHTML.
It’s just 0.2 version but we want to make a well-working extension, our goal is to make possible a total xhtml 1.0 strict compliance with joomla 1.5.
We need help testing and getting feedback.

css2switch
This Component enables Joomla!-Administrators to assign different stylesheets to any published menu-items. Assigning to an menu-item may be optional automatically handed down to all included Submenu-Items. Languages: English, German, Polish. The newest version 1.4 runs in Joomla 1.5.x native mode and allows to assign individual styles to whole menus (e.g. mainmenu, usermenu, etc.)
